Day 13: July 26th, 2014 Moab, Utah to Canyonlands National Park Needles District

Early morning photos at our campsite.  Cody was really into spotting the lizards.  This one happened to pose for us.  After a quick breakfast of cereal we headed to the Island in the Sky Visitor’s Center at Canyonlands National Park.  We scooped up the Junior Ranger books, listened to a ranger talk on geological layers, and then watched the park movie.

Day 11: July 24th, 2014 Dinosaur Nation Park, Utah to Moab, Utah

It had been raining on and off throughout the night, but the tiny drops would evaporate almost as soon as they fell, so we postponed putting on the fly since it was so hot.  At 4:50 it seemed the rain was finally getting serious so we got up to put the fly on, but alas it only lasted fifteen minutes or so.  It really wasn’t such a loss of sleep after all though as Scott and I struggled to sleep with the hot temps all night.  The clouds acted as a blanket keeping in most of the almost one hundred degree day temp.  So when Scott’ alarm went off at 6:30 we were already awake.  We were not quite as boisterous as the guides we met at 8:30, but the rapids and slightly chilly water helped with waking us up the rest of the way.

Day 28: July 14, 2013: Part 1 - Zion National Park to Nevada

We woke up at 6:45 in an attempt to get to a Ride with a Ranger talk at by 8:45.  We stretched and chatted for a few minutes before getting into gear.  We pulled out of our campsite one mile down Dalton Walsh Road by 7:15. We ate some cereal in our dinner spot from yesterday and still had plenty of time for the kids to take out their bikes before our Ranger Ride.

Day 26: July 12, 2013: Bryce Canyons to Posey Lake, Utah

Finally a really long uninterrupted night of sleep.  The kids slept in until 9.  They would have slept longer, but Scott was ready to start the day.  He had been up since 7:30 and already hiked in the canyon and back.  While I was off in the washroom brushing my teeth Brooke complained to Scott that she wanted to hike too.  So Brooke and I hiked the 1.3 Navajo Loop into and out of Bryce Canyon.  Bryce is still one of my all time favorite National Parks.  Its beauty is unlike any others.  Due to my extreme love of this area I took a few too many photos…
