Day 18: June 20th: Post 2 Dorothy

Brooke’s little bike had a flat on the back tire, so Scott was teaching Brooke how to fix a flat after we finally remembered to pick another tube up from… where?  Yep!  Wal-Mart.

Playground workout

I was finally able to get an upper body workout in. This playground was perfect though I only got in one set before the rain. Gordie Howe would be proud, considering it is his campground :)

Day 17: June 19th- Day of the Bridges: Drumheller Day 2 1/2 and the Badlands

The people in the orange tent were nestled in the canyons behind us.  It was quite a steep climb.  Scott noted that they even managed to bring a red cooler with them.  Brooke kept veering closer to the edge.  She wanted to go down there too.  Scott finally did take her on a walk down another side of the canyon.  She spent the whole day asking to go up and down.  She actually took a nap today.

Day 16: June 18th: Royal Tyrel Museum

We almost didn’t make it into the museum because Brooke was so in love with the playground right outside of the museum.  She convinced me to go up it more times than I can count.  It had just rained, so we were a little squishy afterwards, but she had fun.  In fact, I only was able to snap this picture of her because I traded a picture for going up AGAIN! :-)

Drumheller, AB

Friday, June 18th, 2010

Wow! What a rainstorm yesterday. While we drove from Saskatoon it blew and rained hard all day and briefly into the night. As they say, the faster a storm moves in, the faster it clears out. And today is no exception. Today is an overcast, but no rain!

At this point, we have had twice as many rainy days as sunny days. Scott cooked all of us French Toast in the rain while we sat in the dry van watching him quickly look more like a wet rag than the Dada.

Day 14: June 16th: Saskatoon- Gordon Howe Campground

This campground is definitely unique.  We love that we can see the city and camp close.  However, we’re not so sure that the words city and campground belong together.  We give them credit though, in order to give you that true camping experience, we believe they have trucked in mass quantities of mosquitoes.

Mtn biking buffalo pound

I got out for a short bit of single track this morning. I was dying until I just parked it in the granny chainring and found my groove. What a cool place. Tons of stuff for the family and single track. Awesome.

Day 12: June 14th: Buffalo Pound Prov. Park

Ahhh…. This is how all our mornings should start.  The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and Cody slept in until 6:40.  I probably  should also mention that he was up past 11.  Yes, 11.  Ugh.
