Scott was up at 5am, but let us all sleep until 7:30. It was a perfect morning to sleep in and with the top off the light breeze lulled us in and out of sleep.

He headed out to explore and look into getting our campsite for another night. After multiple attempts he learned that you have to line up at exactly 9am to get your site again.

The beach was calling. It was a perfect sunny 87 degree day, but before we could get there we needed some breakfast.

Blueberry and pancake breakfast before we hit the road.

The kids were rocking away in their hammocks again this morning.

Brooke had a quick spa moment before we headed out.

A surprise to us all, we headed to the beach by 10am. We stayed until 4pm. Even with reapplying sunscreen every hour or so, we are still slightly crispy critters.

We took a break for some lunch at the car. While we were gone some wild hooligans, just kidding, some adorable dogs decided our brand new collapisble buckets would be delicious for their lunch.

When Cody wasn’t searching for the perfect rocks to skip, he was digging. The shovels are still one of the best “toys” we could pack. We learned that little tid-bit way back in 2010 on our trip to Alaska.

Cody made a grave to honor the fallen bucket.

Brooke asked Scott to bury her.

Before heading to the beach we went on a mission to recover some fallen and forgotten wood. The wood helped make the delicious burgers and blueberry cobbler we had for dinner. Scott had to put in some woodchopipng time to make use of the wood. Cody helped by making an extra long stick attached with Duck Tape to help burn up the pancakes leftover from breakfast.

While Cody worked on very important work Scott made a blueberry cobbler in the Dutch Oven.

“El Duche” with a twiggy fire on top

Brooke was hiding from the gnats, flies and mosquitos in the tent. She was running the fans early.

Scott crisped up the top of the cobbler with a twiggy fire.

Brooke emerged from the tent and graced us with her presence long enough to eat her cobbler.

If Scott’s face doesn’t give it away, the cobbler was delicious.

We headed to the showers to cool off and peel off the ten layers of suntan lotion.

Scott and I watched an episode of Justified before drifting off.
