Drop off day!  The kids are heading to Camp Batawagama today.  They were extremely helpful in cleaning up camp and loading up the van today.

We were a wee bit early for drop off time.  Drop off time is really 2:30. We showed up at 11:30.  Brooke was only a little eager to go.

Cody on the other hand was a little anxious.  We headed to the park almost across the street from the camp.  At first Cody explored the camp.

Scott made us some buttered noodles for lunch.  Then he and Scott headed to the water.

Brooke and I, having just had showers, were not eager to get full of lake water again.  Scott encouraged Cody to swim all the way out to the furthest pier.  Thankfully they had logs anchored along the way to turn the long swim into shorter pieces.

We joined the long line of parents and kids lugging their entire bedrooms to camp.  Brooke wasn’t up for pictures, so I took a sneaky selfie while she looked around.

Registration took quite a while.  We discovered we were lucky to have been invited to camp.  Many former campers were not invited back to limiting the numbers of out of Iron County campers invited.

After the kids found the bunk they wanted and stored their items in their cubbies they headed to the lake for the swim test.

Brooke attended Camp Batawagama last year, but this was Cody’s first year, and his first swim test.

Cody let us take some last minute pictures before we left him in cabin C4.

Brooke would not let us take pictures of her in her cabin A2, but she did a great job of setting up her bed.  So much better than last year.  Last year we dropped her off with no sheets, no blanket, but we did remember to give her a wet sleeping bag.  She survived, but it was so much nicer dropping her off this year.  No tears from anyone.

Scott and I headed to Marquette and set up camp on an incredible site 81.  Cheers to adult adventure time and hopefully an incredible week at camp for the kids.
