July 14, 2018 Day 11 Iron River, MI to Home

We woke up to sunshine!  Woohoo!  The tent dried a little bit from the last two days of on and off rain.

We headed to the park we relaxed at yesterday to cook up some French Toast for breakfast.  While we were cooking breakfast we watched the whirlwind of activity around us.  The town’s Rodeo parade was going to be going right past us within the next hour.

We watched the parade mostly under the shade of the pavilion, but we did venture towards the road for a few minutes.  The MC for the rodeo yesterday mentioned that he was from Texas and left his home in 104 degree heat and didn’t want to hear any more complaints about how hot it was for Iron County leaving its  comfortable seventies for eighties.  It was true it was not that hot for him. Though not being used to it, it was a wee bit warm in the sun for those of us hanging out in Iron County.

The middle pic is funny because the job advertisement actually put a cubicle on a float.  We have never seen that before.

After the parade we headed down the road to finally see our munchkins after an entire week of being gone at camp.  The winding wooded roads were very peaceful.

We picked the kids up from camp and then spent most of the day driving. There was a brief stop at Wendy’s in Racine for some dinner.  The kids were exhausted.

Home! 7:30pm.  Time to clean out the car, wash the laundry and get ready to leave again.
