9:15 - Wakodahatchee Wetlands

Scott spotted a baby alligator right away.

We have visited this wetland area several times and seen an incredible amount and variety of birds, but never have we seen so much in the water.  We saw fish, turtles, and a baby gator.

A turtle is hiding in the middle picture above.  We went back to home base for a little bit to put on more sunscreen and grab some food. The kids made a fort while they waited to go to the beach.

Cody buried Scott’s feet in the wet sand.

Some point not long before these pictures were taken Scott set up his hammock in the trees.  Cody decided he had enough sun and so did Brooke.  I was resting and opened my eyes to Brooke putting the pink hat directly over my face.  I went and swam with her for a little while.

When we returned from swimming Cody just wanted to snuggle.  Notice Brooke’s look in the background of the second picture of me snuggling with Cody. She was ticked.  Not because she wanted to sit on my lap, but she didn’t want anyone else to have my attention either.  She tried snuggling with me.  It lasted five minutes.  I texted Scott and asked him to return since our sun baked kids were ready for the next adventure.

Our lucky lizards were waiting to greet us back home.

Cody cleaned out the beach bags and took note of his new collection.  He calls the little shells he formed into a circle unicorn horns.  We had leftovers for dinner since it was late and the kids were famished.  I went to reheat Jiffy Jambalaya for the boys and discovered something was missing.  Similar to taking all the chocolate chips out of a chocolate chip cookie, someone had taken all the meat out of the Jambalaya. Hmm….Who would do something like that? The lizards?

We purchased a new umbrella for the condo.  Cody spotted the empty box by the door and asked if he could have it.  You would have thought it was Christmas when Scott told him he could have it.  Not long after Cody started reconstructing his new project Scott called for the kids to head to bed.  After tucking the kids into bed I worked on making dinner for the next day while Scott watched some work videos.
