We were up by 6 and on the road by 7.  Which is impressive considering it is the earliest we have been moving all trip and right after a late night too.

We stopped for a super healthy breakfast and headed down Interstate 10 towards Florida.  If we drive all day we can get to our next scheduled destination by 9pm.  More than likely though we will need to stop one more night before we get to where we are staying.

Speaking of unscheduled stops, we saw the Infinity Space Center just off Interstate 10 and stopped to look around and have a quick walking and restroom break. The sculpture is called the Infinity Eagle.  It is made of medal used in the testing of NASA equipment for space and actual equipment used in space.  When Scott and I were down here twenty years ago we stopped at the John C. Stennis Space Center.  Twenty years ago we also stopped in Baton Rouge and visited the top of their capital building.  Today, however, unlike our usual meandering style, we drove through Baton Rouge on a quest to make our FL destination by nightfall.

Back on the road by 10:20.

11:45 – Alabama state line

12:07 – Mobile, AL

12:47 – (Illinois time) Florida State line

Dinner at Cracker Barrel.  We’ve already eaten out more on this trip than we usually do in an entire year.

12:30 am (Florida time now) – Finally arrived at Casa Delray!  Oh so tired, but happy to be to our destination.
