Sandy found part of a fishing pole for Brooke.  Scott attached some line and a bobber.  Brooke was patiently fishing along our campsite shore while we ate breakfast and enjoyed the very fine sunshine.  After breakfast we sadly said goodbye to Sandy and Jack and headed to Homer.

We LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this Visitors Center.  We went back to it many times while we stayed in Homer.

This exhibit asks how many snowflakes does it take to make a glacier.  There wasn’t an answer, but it is a very thought provoking question.  We have been on a constant quest to touch a glacier, but much to Brooke’s dismay we have not been successful despite several hikes to see glaciers.

It is hard to tell since the tide is so low, but this is the Pacific Ocean or more specifically The Kachemak Bay off of the Cook Inlet.  It was incredible to be so close to the ocean.  You could smell the salty air and even taste it if you kept your mouth open too long.  It was insanely windy.  The tent was blown up like a balloon.  I held on with all of my might while Scott tried to tie her down.  We eventually grabbed some washed up logs to tie the tent to and luckily the tent stayed put all night.  I loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean.  Sometime during the night the wind died down and it was a very peaceful morning.
