Day 9: June 11th: Guess what the weather is….

I have finally figured out Minnesota’s secret to having 10,000 lakes.  You guessed it, it never stops raining.

Camping in the rain is about as much fun as a long Winter Break from school with a huge project hanging over your head.  You can avoid the inevitable for as long as possible, but eventually you have to deal with reality.  The kids eventually have to be fed, the tent has to be set up or taken down, and the kids need exercise and a chance to stretch their legs.  And while it is fun to be on Winter Break, that darn project just sucks the fun out of your relaxation. Well, it would if it were me.

Before I left, I read that June is Alaska’s rainy month, and that sun is the exception rather than the rule.  Thus while I am hoping to move away from Minnesota and the rain, I fear there is only more to come.  Well, at least we are a third of the way through the month.  Only twenty more days of rain to go! :-)
