Day 8: Thursday, June 10th: The Shower

Ahhhh……Can you hear me back in Illinois?  My shower was that good.  I haven’t had a shower since Day 3.  Brooke fell asleep on a scenic driving tour of the Mississippi headwaters or Itasca Park.  That was at about 5 pm.  She slept until 8 pm.  I only know this because Scott told me so.  I wasn’t there because he said the most beautiful words during dinner, “you can take a shower all by yourself if you want to.”

Yippee!!! He might as well have sent me on a few hundred dollar spa treatment.  Although we know that would only happen if someone else other than Clark Griswald took over Scott’s body.

Normally Scott showers Cody, and I shower Brooke.  That is, of course, when we actually stay at a campground with showers.  The showers here are like suites: plenty of room, brand new, nice warm water.  There was only one down side. The water shut off in regular time increments.  Now what would you consider to be a good time allotment for a shower? Scott said five minutes.  I thought ten minutes was a good length.  The answer, however, is thirty seconds.  It wasn’t too big a deal to touch the button to turn it on again.  However, I like long showers, especially without cuties.  I took about a forty minute shower.  How many times did I hit that button?

I haven’t felt too horrible without showering though.  It rains enough here that you feel like you get a shower all day long.
