We stopped at the South Peace Centennial Museum in the town of Beaverlodge this morning. It has many antique cars and steam engines. After chatting with the hostess we decided it might not be the most perfect museum for the cuties since it is more of a look with your eyes rather than touch with your hands museum.
After 27 days of traveling we are finally at “Zero Mile”.
We drove to Fort St. John and enjoyed a Spray Park, for two minutes. Then we ran to the car put on our sweats and played at the playground. We also stopped at the bank and post office. Then we turned right back onto the Alaska Highway and heard, “Please follow the road for 1,412 miles.” Wow! We have a little ways to go yet!
On the road again….
We traveled about 130 miles after lunch and stopped in the middle of nowhere at Buckinghorse River Wayside Provincial Park. The park had a beautiful view of Buckinghorse River, but no drinkable water. We went to the RV park across the street and they were kind enough to fill our water for us. Scott made Sweet and Sour Chicken for dinner and chocolate pudding for dessert. He used his water bottle and water mixed with instant pudding. After he shook it, he tethered it to the shore and dropped it in the cold river. It was ready after dinner and Brooke said it was delcious.
It was a coooooold night! I was up for a few hours just because I was too cold to sleep. I kept finding things to wrap around the kids. Brooke said she was fine, she stayed in her sleeping bag and liner for once. She usually flings everything off in the middle of the night. Cody slept until 3:30. He had frozen little hands and head.
