Bear? Moo-bear
We were driving along Route 52 in North Dakota and Scott with his Eagle Eye Park Vision spotted my favorite campsite yet. Again, this was not an actual campground, but it did have some trails, and some cows. Scott recorded some cute audio of Brooke giggling because when this calf was way off in the distance it looked and moved slightly like a bear. Okay, so maybe I am slightly bear-phobic because my bear mooed. One of our favorite authors is Sandra Boynton and Moo Baa La La La is one of our favorite books. Thus Scott keeps singing, “Moo Bear La La La.” Oh, and the sun finally showed up. YEAHH!!!!!!
The only down-side to our campground was the ticks. We have now instituted full body searches before bed. Everyone except Cody had a tick hanging out. As gross as the little “suckers” are, they are definitely determined. We each had on three layers and still they managed to get through crawling all the way from the ground up. We need to look this up or call someone to look this up, but we need to figure out what to do once these guys have their heads latched on. Scott thinks trying to burn their little butts to motivate them to pull their heads out is a old wives tale. I know that you aren’t supposed to just yank them out though…
In leaving our campground we visited the town of Kenmare. They had this amazing Danish Windmill just open to see. Even at 9 am on a Sunday morning.
Danish Mill 11 miles North of Kenmare
Cody had fallen asleep for his morning nap, so I listened to Brooke and Scott excitedly tell me about the mill. Brooke loved climbing the stairs, even though she looks scared in this picture. Scott loved that you could see all the old wooden gears. Only 52 miles to Canada.
Thank you for the sun, thank you for the sun, it can’t be said enough, THANK YOU FOR THE SUN!!!
