Beat the shit out of the side of the lower axel to release the lower ball joint taper. Make sure to have something to catch the spindle so it doesn’t crash onto the ground or thread the lower ball joint nut on loosely.

It took a bit longer than planned to finish the job because I had to make a couple of press spacers for the lower ball joint out of 2″ ID pipe. The kit I was renting from Autozone didn’t have the right size.
