Getting our groove on

The north of Canada and Alaska, from what I understand, have almost no radio stations. Good news is that we have a pretty large collection of digital music to get us through.  And with the help of the ubiquitous iPod we should be set in the tunes department.

Of course the replacement battery that I purchased for April’s 3rd generation iPod was toast.  We purchased the first replacement from ipodbatterydepot.com and it failed to last even two years.  Fortunately, I saved the paperwork and they warrantied the battery.  Now to another year later the battery is dead.  The fact that these batteries can’t even last under light use is testament to the quality of their product.  What really chapped me is that the battery was supposed to have a lifetime warranty (which they have since changed).  This time I was told that they will only replace a battery under warranty once.  My pleas for help fell on deaf ears.  In fact I followed up with them consistently for a couple of weeks.  Clearly they would rather lose a customer than to make it right.

So, I purchased another replacement from milliamp.com.  This battery apparently has significantly more capacity that the original.  Only time will tell…
