Brooke often asks us to find something fun for her to do, especially on days when we try to get in some miles.  Today Brooke enjoyed:

3 playgrounds

1 spray park

1 canoe ride

1 beach/ lake hop around session

and a bike ride along the Yukon River in view of Brooke’s favorite boat – the steamboat S.S. Klondike

We spent last night and this morning at Pine Lake Campground in the Yukon.  Scott took Brooke on a quick five minute boat ride since we didn’t have life jackets and the frigid water didn’t seem too forgiving of irresponsible boating.

Brooke is floating in the air because of the unequal weight distribution.

Brooke and Scott went for a quick dip up to their knees.  Brr!!!  I asked Brooke to make sure Cody didn’t fall out of the car while I helped Scott get the bikes off of the roof.  It reminded me of Shel Silverstein’s “Mrs. McTwitter, the babysitter, I think she’s a bit crazy.  She thinks the babysitter is supposed to sit upon the baby.”

Scott said this was his favorite bike trail of the whole trip.  Whitehorse’s Grey Mountain was featured in Mountain Biking magazine as a “Top 10” ride.

Scott took the Yellow Brick Road to El Camino to My Trail to Your Trail to Lakes Trail to Blue Brothers to Lower Roller Coaster for a total mileage of close to 10.  Below are some shots from the trail.

The spray park we enjoyed while Scott was biking.

Brooke mostly danced around the edges of the spray park and watched the other kids, but occasionally she would take up a water cannon and get someone.  We visited the SS Klondike on our way up to Alaska, but Brooke wanted to do the tour all over again.  She loves steamboats.

After a brief gentle shower we were treated to an incredible sky.

The gun range wasn’t too far from this picturesque campsite, so Scott comfortably slept to the “sweet” sound of gunfire.
