Scott and Brooke enjoyed some fun adventures together yesterday while I tried to get Cody to take a nap and get to sleep at night.

They went on a bike ride to Pioneer Park.  I wasn’t going to put this in, but since Scott wants to dispute, I will just for fun.  He said they were going on a “short” bike ride.  Luckily I knew what “short” means.  I reminded him to bring food and water for Brooke even though they just ate.  Turns out he didn’t need it, but their “short” ride was two hours long.  This is why I always ask for more details when Scott says he wants to go for a “short” hike! :-)

The monument is on a Native Alaskan in downtown Fairbanks.

The sled dog is the start of the Yukon Dog Race.  It is also 1,000 miles long like the Iditarod, but it is supposed to be more strenuous because there are three mountain ranges to cross instead of just one.

Brooke lucked out at this train.  She LOOOOVES trains.  I think I’ve mentioned her room is decorated in Thomas.  The park is free, but the train cost $1 for kids and $2 for adults.  Scott didn’t bring any money with him, so he told Brooke, “Sorry we’ll have to come back tomorrow.”  An amazing grandma with her grandkids offered to pay for Brooke and Scott, so Brooke was able to ride the train thanks to the generosity of a complete stranger.

When I was trying to get Cody to sleep Brooke and Scott went on another bike ride, but  this time Brooke rode her bike and Scott walked.  She rode her bike a mile to the McDonalds, played her little heart out, and then rode her bike bike another mile.  That was the most Brooke has ridden her bike all at one time.
